Lesson 5: Common Core Connection

I chose the 3^rd grade standard 2.RI.1 which requires students to demonstrate understanding and form new questions from text. I could give the students graphic organizers and have them select a topic. I would show students have to use ProQuest and some of the search modification features. From there I would have them use the computers to look for an article on their topic. I would have them write 3 things they learned from the article and then have them write three things they still wanted to know. From there I would have them modify their search again to see if they could research answers to the questions they just formed.
